There's a reason frankincense has been burned in sacred spaces for five thousand years. The moment the resin meets the charcoal, the room shifts — a sweet, honeyed smoke rises, the air feels cleaner, and something in you slows down.
The Oldest Incense in the World
Frankincense resin has been traded along the coasts of Somalia and the Arabian Peninsula since ancient times. It was burned in Jerusalem's temples, used by the ancient Greeks and Romans, and remains central to Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine, and aromatherapy today. A small amount goes a long way — a few pieces on a charcoal disk will fill an entire room.
Where It Comes From
Harvesters make a careful incision into the trunk of the Boswellia tree, allowing the sap to slowly drip and harden over three months into the golden resin crystals you receive.
How to Use
- Place a charcoal disk in a heatproof dish, bowl filled with sand or rice, or an incense burner
- Add a pinch of salt on top of the charcoal for a slower, more even burn
- Light the charcoal with a match or lighter until you see glowing embers across the surface
- Place 2–3 pieces of frankincense resin on top and let the smoke rise
What It's Good For
- Meditation and breathwork — the scent naturally slows the breath and quiets the mind
- Yoga practice — creates a grounding, focused atmosphere
- Spiritual rituals and space clearing
- Aromatherapy and stress relief
- Shabbat and ceremonial use
